About Wobbly Woman

Hi There

“ What's all this Wobbly Woman thing about – you may ask?

My intention is to inspire, inform, and entertain you through my writing, videos, interviews, art, film, and whatever tickles my fancy (or yours).

ARE YOU GAME?

Self-Esteem and Confidence

From the moment I could hold a pencil I wanted to be a writer but didn’t have the confidence in myself to pursue a writing career. A difficult life event made me realise that life was about doing what you love, so I enrolled into a Masters of Creative Writing. A two year course turned into a seven year part-time marathon as I raised my children.

While I might have a lot of initials after my name and a huge student loan to pay back - (Bachelor of Arts (English Literature), Diploma of Education and now Master of Communication (Creative Writing)  it’s my wobbly life experiences that have taught me the most. And that is...life is too short to hold yourself back.

I hope that by sharing my stories, (the happy and the crappy) that you may get an "a-ha" moment, find useful information or just have a good belly laugh.

Depression

Life hasn’t all been roses for me. I grew up with my parents fighting against corruption in local council. I was a high-school dropout, immersed myself in alcohol and men, was almost a domestic violence murder statistic, suffered depression and anxiety, and at times lost myself in the role of mother and wife and while I painted on my happy smile with lipstick. I was in a dark place for a very long time.

I am committed to living my life as a woman of service and am dedicated to building confidence and self-esteem in young people and especially women who have found themselves in domestic violence.

Inspirational Teachers and Healers

I opened up my personal development books and drew inspiration from Louise Hay’s book, You Can Heal Your Life, realising that loving the self is the first step to real change.

And I get help when I need it from psychologists and healers. I am not afraid of being real and talking about issues that are painful or taboo. I write about controversial issues in the hope of instigating change on a personal and wider level.

I was also blessed to have a day with Louise Hay, Reid Tracey, Cheryl Richardson and other amazing women, where Louise inspired me to become a Heal Your Life Facilitator.

Vulnerability Opens You Up To Love

I love that I can express my wobbliness to the world and that it’s ok to be vulnerable, constantly learning and growing.

I love that by being honest brings me closer to other people who whisper to me:

“I’m a wobbly woman too!”

Whatever that means?

I share my passion with my husband, Guy. I am amazed at how our life has evolved because we sure as hell have been through tough times which you can read about in my Wobbly Woman Memoirs- Looking for Love. Through our learning and experiences, we are still together and happier than ever.

Do What You Love

When I’m not writing, interviewing, or filming, I am cooking up a Croatian Food storm, journaling, designing and sewing, travelling the world, attempting to grow things on my little patch of paradise on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland – Australia, loving my partner, mothering my two angels and enjoying time with family and friends.
